I made this cake for Thanksgiving dinner as a back up plan. I needed cream cheese for my first choice recipe and the grocery store was out of cream cheese. I can't imagine that my first choice cake could have been any better than this one though! The cake layers are banana chocolate chip. Each cake layer was topped with a chocolate ganache and a butterscotch Italian meringue buttercream. I added some chocolate and caramel crisp pearls to the top of the cake for decoration.
