This cake is for a 4th wedding anniversary. I made the wedding cake during the 2010 Olympics and now I made the anniversary cake during the next Olympics. The wedding cake was the same flavor and design, just quite a bit larger than this cake.
The flavor is Almond Amaretto Praline - almond cake layers soaked in an Amaretto sugar syrup topped with Amaretto Italian meringue buttercream and toasted crushed almond praline. Yum!
I added gumpaste leaves to the calla lilies this time and I like the added pop of color against the black and white!
