This cake was made for a 1st birthday party for an adorable little girl whose room is filled with castles, princesses and frogs. The cake was a vanilla buttermilk cake with strawberry mousse filling iced in a white chocolate buttercream. The tiers were then covered in a strawberry-flavored pink fondant and stacked. The vines were piped on using white chocolate buttercream and fondant blossoms were added to the vines. The towers, turrets, door, banner and windows were done with fondant and the turrets were brushed with lustre dust to give them a pearl finish. It's getting harder for me to decide what my favorite cake I've done yet is all the time but this cake is definitely a strong contender! Happy 1st Birthday Sofia! I can't wait to make your 2nd birthday cake next year!
