8/16/2009 0 Comments Piggeldy CakeWhen I got a request to make a Piggeldy cake, I had never heard of Piggeldy before (pictured above). This character is from a 1970's German cartoon and I really must say he is rather cute. Continuing the run of 1st birthday cakes I've been doing lately, this cake is for a 1 year old boy's birthday. The cake is a banana cake filled and iced with fudge frosting - yum! The cake was then covered with a banana-flavored fondant. Piggeldy's features were all made from fondant and added to the cake. The lettering was done with fondant and placed on a fondant "thought bubble". The cake board was covered with fondant to give the impression of sky and grass and the green was handpainted to give more depth to the "grass". I think this is my favorite angle of the cake because it shows the curly little
tail. I love this little guy - I think I wish I could have seen this cartoon!
