I have never made (or eaten!) Princess Torte before. A friend specifically requested this cake for her birthday a few months back and I was excited to try it.
The cake is topped with a marzipan rose and a few marzipan leaves. I was really happy with how the rose turned out especially since there aren't cutters and you just shape the petals with your fingers!
The cake is a light vanilla sponge that is cut into three thinner layers.
The cake is filled with a vanilla bean custard creme, whipped cream and raspberry vanilla bean jam and then covered in green marzipan. It was quite yummy and I would definitely make it again!
