Stained Glass Cake

I've always had a hard time picking my favorite cake I've ever made but I love this one. I can't think of any cakes I've ever made that I like more than this one so I now have a favorite :)

The top two tiers are organic orange cake soaked in an orange simple syrup filled with raspberry Swiss meringue buttercream.

The bottom tier is vanilla bean sour cream cake topped with caramel and caramel-butterscotch buttercream.

The topper is three gumpaste flowers edged in black to fit in with the stained glass theme.

The top two tiers were covered in white fondant and painted to look like stained glass. It's the first time I've tried this technique and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I was given free rein on the design and the flavor so now I just hope the birthday girl is happy with my choices. Have a wonderful birthday, Linda!
